Inspire Education is moving!

On Friday, 23 September 2016, the Inspire Education head office will move to a new and more central location in the Brisbane CBD.  We are excited to announce to all students and learners that by the end of the week, our new address will be:

Level 19, 288 Edward Street, Brisbane, QLD 4000

Our new head office allows us to better service our training students Australia-wide with its fully equipped training facilities and more convenient location within Brisbane.

For current students, the online Hub will continue to operate as normal and you will still be able to access your course materials during this time. We do not expect any significant disruption to our training services and all emails will be attended to at the start of the following week, Monday 26 September 2016.

Latest Individual Support Courses in Aged Care, Disability and Home Care Now Open

The new aged care, disability, and home care courses are now open for enrolments!

Starting this June 2016, all students can now enrol in the new CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support online course. This is the latest nationally accredited qualification that supersedes the older Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30212), Certificate III in Disability (CHC30408), and the Certificate III in Home and Community Care (CHC30312) courses.

The 3 old courses have combined into this new CHC33015 course and students are free to choose where they want to specialise or focus on. The 3 available specialisations are officially known as:

  1. Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
  2. Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  3. Certificate III in Individual Support (Home Care)

New Individual Support Course Units

All specialisations have 13 total course units each, but they all share the same 7 core units. All students are required to study the following units no matter where they want to focus on:

7 Core Units

  • CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support
  • CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being
  • CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
  • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
  • CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
  • HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
  • HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care

6 Elective Units

The remaining 6 units are elective units and the vary depending on the specialisation you prefer.

To gain the Ageing or Aged Care specialisation, the elective units are:

CHCCCS011 – Meet personal support needs
– Facilitate the empowerment of older people
– Provide support to people living with dementia
CHCPAL001 – Deliver care services using a palliative approach
CHCDIS007 – Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid*

To gain the Disability specialisation, the elective units are:

CHCDIS001 – Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach
CHCDIS002 – Follow established person-centred behaviour supports
CHCDIS003 – Support community participation and social inclusion
CHCDIS007 – Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability
CHCCCS025 – Support relationships with carers and families
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid*

To gain the Home Care specialisation, the elective units are:

CHCCCS011 – Meet personal support needs
Facilitate the empowerment of older people
CHCAGE005 – Provide support to people living with dementia
CHCCCS025 – Support relationshiops with carers and families
CHCHCS001 – Provide home and community support services
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid*

Vocational Placement Hours

The Cert III in Individual Support work course has 120 minimum placement hours. This is up from the original 80 hours of the old superseded aged care courses.

New Student Portal Opening Soon!

We are extremely excited to announce that we are launching our new online learning system called “The Hub”!

The current student portal will go offline at 5:00PM Thursday on the 5th of May 2016 to make way for this learning environment exclusive to Inspire Education students.

The new Hub will go online at 5:00PM Thursday on the 19th of May 2016 (updated from 12 May). Starting on that day, the Hub will be your new online learning space where you will be able to:

Easily navigate around the user friendly environment
Access all your course information, learning and assessment resources and assessment results at the click of a button
Quickly and simply communicate with your trainers, assessors and the student support team

We are sure you will love this new “place where learning happens”. The Hub will also allow us to bring you many more exciting new learning features in the coming year. Stay tuned for these exciting announcements!

What Do I Need To Know About The Hub Changeover?

To complete the process of transferring all of your data to The Hub, the current student portal will go offline on Thursday the 5th of May at 5pm. The portal will be offline until the 19th of May whilst we transfer your student data including assessment results and submissions to The Hub.

We will send an email with instructions for using The Hub and advising you of your new logins once your new account has been activated.

Will I Be Able To Continue My Studies During This Changeover Period?

Yes, there is no problem with you being able to continue with your studies during this time.

You will just need to ensure that you have downloaded your learning resources and Assessment Workbooks for the subject/s you wish to work on during these weeks. You will be unable to submit any assessments during this period, however you will be able to submit them as soon as The Hub comes online.

If your course expires during this transition period, you will be given an extra week to submit any final assessments to ensure that you are not impacted by this system update.

How Will I Access Training and Student Support During These Weeks?

Never fear, while your portal is offline you will have phone access to address any queries or assistance you may have during this period. You can always contact us on 1800 506 509 9am to 5pm to book in a trainer appointment OR speak with the students services staff.

We are extremely excited about the launch of The Hub and we are sure you will love this new learning environment.

Certificate III in Education Support (CHC30213) Course Just Launched!

Enrolments for the latest online teacher’s aide course, the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support, are now open!

Starting this month, you may now take up the nationally accredited and recognised Cert III Ed Support with Inspire Education to get started in your career as an educator. This education support training course is Australia’s most current qualification for those who want to assist and help students and teachers in classroom and other learning environments.

What careers can I pursue with the Certificate III in Education Support?

The CHC30213 course is ideal if you want to apply for a job role or start a career as a:

  • • Special School Teacher Aide

Inspire Education’s training course for teacher’s aides will teach you the essential skills and knowledge you need to launch your ideal career.  This includes how to support and develop numeracy, language, and literacy skills, implement school and learning programs, and how to work to effectively with students and other educators.

This education support course also teaches compliance to legislative and industry regulations that educational environments need to follow. Helping develop and empower students with disabilities and special needs is also taught in this Cert III Ed Support course.

How will I study this online training course?

You will study the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support via Online Self-Paced Learning. This is the most popular delivery method among Inspire Education students since it comes with full trainer support, comprehensive and easy to follow learner guides and workbooks, and a course duration of up to 12 months.

Online learning means you will study at your pace and during your preferred times. As a student, you can access your course materials and other training resources anytime and from anywhere in Australia.

The Cert III in Ed Support has clustered course units. This means you will only have 6 workbooks to complete since we have reduced any doubling up of assessment tasks between units! This may help you finish your course at a better pace and give you a more holistic learning experience.

Note that this course has a vocational placement requirement. You will need to complete at least 100 placement hours at a school or another approval educational environment to formally gain your qualification.

When can I start with my teacher’s aide training?

You can enrol straight away and start studying as soon as you receive your student account for the Inspire Education Student Portal. You can also set your own course start date by enroling today if you are prefer to start sometime in the future.

Inspire Education New Head Office

Inspire Education has moved!

The Inspire Education Head Office has been relocated from Level 10, 243 Edward St, Brisbane QLD to The Annex, Level 1, 133 Mary St, Brisbane QLD. This will serve as our temporary headquarters while we relocate to a more convenient location to better service our students.

This temporary move has already been completed, and all student support services have not been impacted.

If you are currently a student, you can continue to get trainer support by scheduling a Trainer Call Back through the student messaging system in the Student Portal or by contacting our team at 1800 506 509. If you would like to make an appointment with your Trainer in our new temporary location, please contact our team beforehand to book a date.

We will make another announcement as soon as the new permanent Inspire Education Head Office location is ready. Cheers!

New TAE Diplomas Launched!

TAE50111 and TAE50211 Diploma Enrolments Now Open!

Inspire Education is excited to announce the launch of two new qualifications! We now have two new TAE Diplomas open for enrolments, the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, and the TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development.

These qualifications are designed for experienced vocational trainers who need to develop or formalise advanced skills in designing training and assessment services. You’ll learn core competencies like designing and developing learning resources, learning strategies, assessment tools, and training needs analysis. The courses also cover a range of other skills like evaluating training programs, e-learning, and advanced assessment practice.

Armed with your new qualification(s), it’s expected you’ll be able to pursue professional outcomes such as:

Is this course for you?

There are no prerequisites to study these courses, but it is strongly recommended you hold a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus vocational experience. These qualifications may also be suitable if you have extensive experience in training and assessment roles working in an RTO, or other type of training organisation with a focus on competency-based learning and assessment.

This qualification requires you to have a high level of access to learners and training environments in order to demonstrate all the required competencies. It’s really designed to be completed while you are actively employed in a training role, but anyone can enrol if you are able to access the required resources. The Diploma courses are offered via Online learning. You’ll have 12 months to complete the courses from your commencement date.

Construction Skills Queensland Funded Courses Available Now!

Thanks to Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), we have a very limited number of fully funded courses available for Queensland building and construction workers. CSQ is an independent industry funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the building and construction industry. The Higher Level Skills Program is designed to keep existing workers in Queensland’s building and construction industry by providing access to Certificate IV and higher level vocational training.

This is your opportunity to develop new skills you can use to move into supervisory roles or take on different, less physically demanding duties at work. Training can also help you respond to labour shortages in the industry or develop new in-demand skills; perfect if you are currently underemployed and seeking more opportunities for work, looking for a change or just like to stay ahead of the curve.

Are you eligible to receive funded training?

To be eligible for funded training, you must:

  • Work in the Queensland building and construction industry.
  • Be employed as a building and construction worker^ with your employer for at least one month (through full-time, part-time or casual employment, or as a contract worker).
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen; a permanent resident of Australia; or a holder of a refugee or humanitarian visa.
  • Be a permanent resident of Queensland; or permanently employed in Queensland.

    And you must NOT :
  • Be currently enrolled and participating in a school program.
  • Be contracted trainers and assessors or existing workers of any registered training organisation (RTO).
  • Be already funded by an Authority or other such source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of this program.
  • Be previously funded under this program in the same program period.

We will conduct an in depth assessment of your eligibility as part of the enrolment process and you will need to provide evidence of residency, employment and citizenship. Additional terms and conditions apply.

^ A building and construction worker is an employee substantially involved in constructing, deconstructing, reconstructing, renovating, altering, demolishing, relocating, maintaining or repairing structures:

  • breakwaters, docks, jetties, piers or wharves;
  • bridges, viaducts, aqueducts or tunnels;
  • buildings;
  • chimney stacks, cooling towers, drilling rigs, gas holders or silos;
  • earthworks, other than for farming;
  • fences, other than fences on farms;
  • navigational lights, beacons or markers;
  • pile driving works;
  • pipe lines;
  • roads, railways, airfields or other works for the passage of anything;
  • spa pools and swimming pools;
  • sporting or recreational facilities;
  • works for conveying products, by-products or materials;
  • works for extracting, refining, processing or treating materials or for producing or extracting products and by-products from materials;
  • works for solid waste disposal;
  • works for subdividing or developing land;
  • works for telecommunication or for the transmission of radio or television;
  • works for the conveyance, treatment or disposal of sewage or of the effluent from any premises;
  • works for the drainage of land;
  • works for the generation, supply or transmission of electric power;
  • works for the improvement or alteration of a harbour, river or watercourse for navigation purposes;
  • works for the irrigation of land;
  • works for the storage of liquids, other than water, or gases;
  • works for the storage or supply of water or for flood mitigation.

Unfortunately you will not be eligible if you work in the building and construction industry in a managerial, clerical, professional or ancillary capacity.

Some related or support industries which are also excluded from funding, include:

  • Transport and delivery providers
  • Agricultural industry
  • Registered Training Organisations
  • Manufacturers or fabricators: Repairing buckets, Fabrication of steel railings, Fabrication of house frames
  • Wholesale or retail suppliers of construction materials or other related products such as Timber, Landscape materials, Cement, Tiles, Electrical goods
  • Building and construction related service providers: Window cleaners, Building cleaners, Rubbish removalists
