This course is delivered through Online Learning. This is an effective and popular method that allows you to study online at your own pace and at times that suit you. We accept online enrolments Australia wide, so you can study with us whether you live in a remote area or a major city like Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth.
Course Duration: You will have up to 12 months from your start date to complete your course. There are no fixed semesters or study periods, so you can enrol and start your training at any time throughout the year.

As part of this disability care course you will develop tools to help you become a great disability carer, such as how to support people living with a disability through community participation and creating an empowering environment.
Expected Study Hours: The CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability course has a nominated completion time of 500 hours (including vocational placement). This equals about 10 hours of study per week over 12 months. Since this is a self paced course, you can complete the course in less time if you like!
Assessment Methods: This course is assessed using written questions, case studies, third party observations and a practical skills journal.
The CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability is comprised 14 units – 9 core units and 5 electives. It is Australia’s Nationally Recognised and Accredited qualification in disability services and care, and is designed for those interested in becoming a disability support worker, community care worker, care assistant, disability service worker, personal care giver or home care assistant. This qualification shares some units with the Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30212) and Certificate III in Home and Community Care (CHC30312) qualifications. After completing the Certificate III in Disability Care, you may be able to receive RPL for those units if you seek training in Aged or Home and Community Care areas.
* The HLTFA311A Apply First Aid unit is NOT delivered by Inspire Education, students must organise the completion of this unit via an external provider.

Students must undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in this field, and may have to undertake additional manual handling training before commencing Vocational Placement.
To successfully complete this qualification you will need to initiate contact with a registered care facility to complete workplace-based experience in the disability care sector. This is an opportunity to solidify your practical experience and skills in working with people living with disabilities. Your placement must be at least 80 hours, up to a maximum of 240 hours.
This disability course has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to work safely and effectively with disabled individuals, providing an opportunity for those with a passion for helping and community care to take a leading role in disability care and service.
Costs associated with completing the required Police Check, Blue Card or Working With Children Check will be shouldered by the student.
